Eleanor Balbach Bielik I have always admired this very special lady who refused to let life's challenges get her down.  She was a working mother before it was fashionable. She combined this with being a full-time mother and caregiver to her sister and elderly mother.  She taught me to be strong, determined and above all compassionate for others.  In my eyes she is the epitome of a hero - Cheryl Ohls

Emma Budde Balbach My grandmother has always been my very special hero.  She was the youngest of 13 children.  She took care of all of them at various times during their lives.  My grandmother had an 8th-grade education which was quite a feat for a woman during the late 1800s.  She made sure that I was allowed to attend college just like the boys. She was a milliner and seamstress. She instilled in me the drive to be independent, determined, and above all loving.  Grandma you always gave more than you received.- Cheryl Ohls
